First Impression: Under The Dome

|
Hi welcome to "First Impression". Let me tell you what's going on today. First I will share the first line of the story and my opinion on the the book that I've just started reading: the cover, the story, and will give an advance star rating to the book. Second, you'll share with me your "First Impression" by linking it back to Coffee N Crackers through the link widget below. Rules: The book must be a book that you just started reading, not a book that you already finished. Easy right? And you can post your First Impression whenever you start reading a new book: no specific day.

 *****
Under the Dome by Stephen King: Inexplicably, an invisible barrier has descended over the town. A woodchuck is chopped right in half; gardener's hand is severed at the wrist, the plane explodes with sheets of flame spreading to the ground. Time is running out for those living under the Dome. Can they find what has created it before it's too late?

 From two thousand feet, where Claudette Sanders was taking a flying lesson, the town of Chester's Mill gleamed in the morning light like something freshly made and just set down. -1st line

The Cover: There are several covers for this book, but mine comes in blue (UK Edition).A simple yet mysterious cover illustrating the town from a distance view. And of course shows the supposed to be invisible barrier (the Dome). It's big!

The Story: A friend from Philippines told me that I have to get this book off my shelf because it's such an amazing story. So, I started reading this book under the impression that it's a good one. Reading the first chapter, true enough that Under the Dome will be a very fascinating unputdownable epic. Now on page 100 and it's getting even better!

Advanced Star Rating: 5 Stars

I gave this one five stars when I read it last year, too. It simply pulls you right in from the very beginning, and all throughout it's lengthy pages! Enjoy!

@Small Kucing
I bought mine during the BBW last year. Just RM8 for this awesome book!! You should try this one Kathy, it's quite lengthy but it's awesome..

@Brandi
You're welcome. This is my second read from him. Last time I read Duma Key, and it's also a good one. After this I would like to try The Stand as people claiming that The Stand is by far his greatest work.

@Julie

Ah I actually didn't enjoy this one as much as I thought I would. I love Stephen King but this one didn't work for me unfortunately. I hope you like it though! :)

@Jillian
Hey Jill. Too bad that it didn't work the way you thought it would. I have to keep on reading to know is it work out well for me or net. But up until now, it's awesome!

I like this feature! Very creative. I have Under the Dome on my shelf. It's been sitting there for over a year now. It's size intimidates the heck outta me. I'm hoping to read this one sometime this year, though it seems like it will take me a month to read it.

@TBV
Hi TBV. Thanks for the compliment. And yup! the size is intimidating, I know. I also don't know when I'm going to finish it. I know it's not gonna bee so soon. I hope that you'll get a chance to read it. Enjoy!

Are you reading UtD at the same time as another book? I was thinking about doing that but I thought that I would forget stuff in UtD. It seems like I would need to give UtD my full and undivided attention.

@TBV
yeah. I'm reading UtD and at the same time I read a book by Picoult, Nineteen Minutes. 19minutes is a bit smaller so I read it while traveling. As for UtD, it's a hard cover and quite big and thick to carry along with me. So, I read it in my room. But so far, I doesn't effect both stories..=)
