Book Blogger Hop: Hosted by Crazy for Books. This week's question is "Why do you read the genre that you do? What draws you to it?". My answer: I am an eclectic reader, since my reading is diverse from children to adult genre. But my favorite are Mystery & Thrillers, and Historical Fiction and I'm starting to love YA Fiction also. There are two criteria which will draw me to these book. First is the interesting storyline and second is the great looking covers (judge books by its covers!!).

8th On My Wishlist

Her books are categorized under the chic-lit genre. But the fact doesn't stop me to read them. To tell the truth, I really love 'em so very much. P.S I Love You, Where Rainbow Ends, If I Could See You Now, and A Place Called Here, all are my favorites. I'm craving for more for Cecelia Ahern's novels. So, for this week On My Wishlist, I choose two books from  Ahern, The Gift and The Book of Tomorrow.

The Gift

A Place Called Here by Cecelia Ahern

What it's all about? [Shelfari's Summary]

The book is about Sandy Shortt who has an obsession with finding things. She spends her life looking for lost people. She used to work for the garda but now, runs her own private company. Her obsession started when her neighbour, Jenny May Butler, went missing when she was ten. Then Jack Ruttle appears, looking for his younger brother, Donal, who went missing the year before. He asks Sandy for help - and she agrees, but doesn't expect to become lost herself, stumbling upon a place where every missing thing seems to be, along with her own belongings from the past. In the book, all the lost things are described as unwanted things and all just left here The book was titled "There's No Place Like Here" for release in the United States. "Here" refers to the name of the place where missing things, like Jenny-May Butler and Sandy Shortt, as well as objects end up.

My Thought

I bought this book because I really thought that it is an interesting story, because all the previous novels by Cecelia Ahern didn't disappointing me.  But, when I read several comments and reviews from the readers out there, stated that this may be the worst book by Ahern, I got scared. I put it on my shelf for quite a long time before I picked it up again during the semester break. The moment I read the first page of A Place Called Here, I just hooked up and can't stop my reading. This is really a page turner from Cecelia Ahern. Where the missing things went to when they got missing? I never thought 'bout that myself. But, Sandy Shortt keep on figuring out, where all this missing thing go and she become obsessed with finding the missing things and even missing person. But, one day she herself went missing and found herself in a strange place that the people there called it "Here". So, this is where all the missing things and persons came to. Now she found what she searched for and time to search her way back home, where she belongs to.  It's true that, this story is quiet difficult to comprehend but it has a great philosophical aspect of life with the twist and surprises here and there. It was a fun reading with a little bit of tear-jerked part. Well, missing yourself is far more scarier than missing your beloved person or things.

2nd On My Wishlist

Hey guys!! It's Wednesday! Means that my second week of Weekly Meme, On My Wishlist hosted by Book Chick City! This week i'm going to wish for some love books. Haha! Who say man don't like love stories?? I do love 'em!! Up until now I've read three books with the love theme. And all the three were by Cecelia Ahern: P.S. I Love You, Where Rainbows End and If You Could See Me Now. The way she write love stories is sweetly gorgeous!! So, this time I put one of her books, Thanks for the Memories in my wishlist together with Sarah Dessen's Along for the Ride.

Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen

The book cover really caught my eyes! Very nice! I knew that Dessen is the author of the international best seller Lock and Key, and most readers said that Lock and Key is awesome! Though I never read any books by Dessen, I know that they are great. But if I ever get an opportunity to read her novels, Along for the Ride would be my first choice!! Yeah..So, here's in short about this book: From Sarah Dessen official site.

And here comes another book from one of my favorite author, After Holly and Gerry ( P.S. I Love You), Rosie and Alex (Where Rainbows End) and Elizabeth and Ivan, (If You Could See me Now), Joyce and Justin would be my next favorite couple. Haha!! So here's the short synopsis of the book: From Cecelia Ahern's official site.

How can you know someone you've never met? Joyce Conway remembers thing she shouldn't. She knows a bout tiny cobbled street in Paris which she has never visited. And every night she dreams about an unknown little girl with blonde hair.

Best Friends Or Soulmates?

Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern is a story of two best friends. Rosie and Alex are childhood friends and they've been through everything together and have an amazing bond right from the start. As Rosie and Alex grow, this does not change, even when they start dating other people. However, fate steps in when Alex's family decide to move to America and live there and Alex has to go with them. The fact that they have to live far from each other make them sad because they've never been apart before. Thus, Rosie is soon planning on joining university in Boston so they can be together again. However, the night that Rosie is due to fly, she discovers the news that will change her plan forever. News that will keep her at home in Ireland.

Starting with an invitation card from Rosie to Alex inviting him to her seventh birthday party, this book chronicles their lives from teenage to the start of their careers and relationships with others. Their friendship is tested with misunderstandings and sheer bad luck that keep them apart.

The way 'Where Rainbows End' is told is very clever which is at first I think it is strange that there are so many gaps within the pages. This story is told completely in notes or letters, instant messages, emails, text, postcards and even greeting cards which are then I enjoyed reading them. It's like spying on Rosie and Alex, and it's feel like a very naughty boy who secretly reading other people emails, messages and letters !
