Book Discovery: Debut Authors Books

I'm writing this post at 1.30 in the morning. Wondering what I am doing at this hour when everyone else is sleeping on their beds? Well, I am completing my assignment for tomorrow's presentation. A last minute work as usual. Okay, lets just forget about that. I've been busy lately. I haven't finished any book this week which is quite a disappointment. However, I manage to discover a few books to be added to my TBR piles. Both of the books are from debut authors which I discovered through bookreporter.com , lets check it out!

Seriously I have no idea how to start blogging again. It seems like all my ideas just stuck in my head, couldn't come out into words. I didn't review for almost half of the year, thanks to my working life! and I'm damn sure that my writing is getting rusty. Well, it is rusty. But I am so happy to write again and hopefully I can do it more frequently from now onwards. Maybe, piling up my wish-list would be a brilliant start. Don't you think so? Well, I do.

Note: I've reluctantly rated the first book, Divergent, with two stars. Mixed feeling. Though I like the premise and the setting of the story, but the characters development failed to impress me. The story also was a bit dragging in the beginning but towards the end of Divergent, the story started to catch my interest, the reason why I'm so looking forward for this second installment.

Note: First of all, the cover is so gorgeous. Second of all, I was so enchanted by City of Bones and currently absorbed with the City of Ashes. Third of all, I have all four books including City of Glass and City of Falling Angels. And fourth of all, I don't see any reason not to have this one as well.

This week On My Wishlist are two books from the YA genre. The first book is The Thirteenth Chime, a book written by a blogger-turned-author, Emma Michaels. The second book would be The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff. Both were published in 2010.

10th On My Wishlist

Sometimes, animals can give a great impact to human's life. Dewey is one of the examples. As an animals lover, I'm really psych to read about this book. My opinion: animals can be "humaner"  than human and we can learn lot of good things from them. But most of the time, human tend to be wilder than animal which confused us between what and who.

9th On My Wishlist

The experience reading a rare book such as The Time Traveler's Wife really fantastic! And I find out that there's yet another rare book to be read, The Lovely Bones. Reading it's synopsis make me think, I have to get this book and treasure it, because it's truly a fascinating story. I never heard about the author, Alice Sebold. Maybe by reading The Lovely Bones, I'll get the chance to know her (I mean how's her writing style is). If The Lovely Bones can give the similar impact as The Time Traveler's Wife, I'll put them side by side on my shelf because The Time Traveler's Wife is by far my most favorite book! In fact, I'll be reading it for the third time this holidays!!

8th On My Wishlist

Her books are categorized under the chic-lit genre. But the fact doesn't stop me to read them. To tell the truth, I really love 'em so very much. P.S I Love You, Where Rainbow Ends, If I Could See You Now, and A Place Called Here, all are my favorites. I'm craving for more for Cecelia Ahern's novels. So, for this week On My Wishlist, I choose two books from  Ahern, The Gift and The Book of Tomorrow.

7th On My Wishlist

The Client novel was the first Grisham's novel that I read, and it was thrilled and it was such a great reading. Since then, I always wishing for his other installments but never manage to get any. I think Ford County will do for me. So, I wish I'll get it soon. *smile*

6th On My Wishlist

Hey guys! It's Saturday and it's time for My Wishlist. I'm adding two more books to my wishlist. First is The Alchemyst, book #1 of The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel written by Michael Scott. I came across this book while browsing the goodreads.com and got attracted by it's story line Second is the book #1of the Mortal Instruments Series, City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. This book was recommended by Shy of The Bibliophiles Journal during our conversation at Shelfari. This is also a great advanture!

5th On My Wishlist

By the author of Who Moved My Cheese?, Dr. Johnson Spencer, Peaks and Valleys is the latest book that I put on my wish-list. I enjoyed Who Moved My Cheese? so much, [read my review] and this book is definitely a must-read book for me.

Peaks and Valleys is a wonderful book. A very quick read - I read it over one of my lunch hours. I have always liked Who Moved My Cheese and repeatedly had brought that book out to re-read when I am feeling a little stuck. Peaks and Valleys encourages me to look at things differently - I may get stuck in a valley occasionally, but it all depends on how I look at it. What maybe a valley, could actually be a peak - it's all in my focus. I encourage everyone to read it and can't wait to start sharing it with my family - Bill @Goodreads.com

• I want to learn more 'bout the Asperger's Syndrom.Well it's not like I can't get any info from net or books, but I think learning in fun way like this suit me better.
• I'm a forensic science stud, so the element of forensic analysis and solving crime really intrigue me.

• I got inspired by the review posted by Darlyn of Darlyn N Book here. It was a great review Darlyn!!
• Because I want to have a try Sparks work, I thought he's a very awesome writer.
• Because I'm going crazy with the movie adapted from this book, starring Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum. They are great..(actually I haven't watch the movie yet. Just view the trailer...but I will)

I went through some reviews from the fellow blogger about these books. I Love You, Where Rainbows End and If You Could See Me Now. The way she write love stories is sweetly gorgeous!! The book cover really caught my eyes! Very nice! I knew that Dessen is the author of the international best seller Lock and Key, and most readers said that Lock and Key is awesome! Though I never read any books by Dessen, I know that they are great. But if I ever get an opportunity to read her novels, Along for the Ride would be my first choice!! And here comes another book from one of my favorite author, After Holly and Gerry ( P.S. I Love You), Rosie and Alex (Where Rainbows End) and Elizabeth and Ivan, (If You Could See me Now), Joyce and Justin would be my next favorite couple. Haha!! .: Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger :.

I've read her first novel, The Time Traveler's Wife. It is really fascinating, fantastic, and horribly incredible! So, this second novel from the author is not something that i'll miss. Her Fearful Symmetry is a a ghost story set in and around the Highgate Cemetery in London. I don't want to say too much here. You can easily google or yahoo or everything about this book. Reading his first novel, The Kite Runner, really make me to want more from this author. So, wishing for his second is what I'm doing. A Thousand Splendid Suns, is a story setting in Afghanistan from the last 30 years. The events during the Soviet invasions and the ruling of Taliban.
